CHALK PAINT PROJECT No.3

My latest Chalk paint project is finished!  I purchased this old dresser which had it's four legs torn off.  I just knew that I could do something really beautiful with it and give it a new life.  The poor dresser was in the shop's basement waiting for me.  I loaded the dresser in my truck, brought it home, made a few calls and found someone who had the skills to repair the legs.  I knew that I wanted to paint it black (just like the Rolling Stones...) and opted for Annie Sloan's chalk paint in the color Graphite.  After two coats of paint, I applied Annie Sloan's Dark wax to make the color stand out.  The result is just splendid and this dresser will now remain in our house where it belongs.  I love it!

SAMANA

After such a horrible winter, my daughter and I packed our things and left without remorse for the easter holidays... Why not just escape to the beach and enjoy the warmth of the sun?  It was wonderful to return to such a beautiful place!

MY SANCTUARY

It is finally completely finished!
For the last three months we have been witnesses to the transformation of our dated bathroom. Like the ugly duckling, it has become a beautiful swan, my own perfect sanctuary.  I am more than happy with the result which is exactly what I had envisioned at the start of this project.  A stand alone tub inside a walk-in shower... Perfect! A modern room with a classic feel: heated marble floor, freestanding rectangular sink on marble counter, towel warmer, rain shower head, oversized mirror... I love it!

CHALK PAINT PROJECT No.2

I have finally finished my chalk paint dresser.  It is simply perfect!  I used Annie Sloan's chalk paint in Paris Grey and applied Annie Sloan's Dark wax mixed with Clear wax to finish the piece.  Here is the result:

I purchased some new glass handles at Home Depot which make a nice addition to the dresser.

DE-STRESSING!

I know it has been a while but we have been very busy with a major bathroom renovation...  Here are a few pictures of the work in progress

We decided to take some of the square footage from our bedroom to allow for a walk-in shower which will also include a stand alone bathtub.  The new bathroom will be stunning but for now, this is the room in all it's glory...

Winter in Quebec has been absolutely horrible this year with temperatures in the -20s F.  To survive this devastating weather, I've started a few design projects, including a "de-stressing" activity...  It all started with a small table given to me by my mother many years ago which had a funky green finish:

I used some of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White (btw... I LOVE YOU ANNIE SLOAN!!!!) and proceeded to paint, wax (with Annie Sloan's clear wax) and distress... And de-stress...  I love these design projects where my mind can just take a break and not think about work, chores, schedules, appointments and obligations.  I enjoyed every minute of it and I am very happy with the final result.

I am currently working on another piece, a beautiful dresser which will be painted in Annie Sloan Paris Grey shade.  It should keep me sane until March!
